Previous 2017 Düsseldorf-Jülich Symposium

From Nov 27-29, 2017, the second Düsseldorf-Jülich Symposium on Neurodegenerative Diseases was held at Haus der Universität in Düsseldorf under the theme of "Formation, aggregation and propagation of amyloids".

With 19 talks and more than 50 scientific posters the symposium offered insights from a wide spectrum of fields. To meet the public´s great interest in Alzheimer´s research, an open evening lecture was given in German by Prof. Christian Haass (DZNE/LMU Munich) at the end of the first day.

We thank all speakers, poster presenters and participants for their contributions and engaging discussions, the team of the Haus der Universität for outstanding organization and Prof. Dr. Detlev Riesner (Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf) for opening the Symposium. Furthermore, we would like to thank the Joachim Herz Stiftung for their generous financial support.

We also congratulate the winners of the poster prizes. 1. Place: Carmen Nussbaum-Krammer (Heidelberg University), 2. Place Anne Wentink (Heidelberg University) and 3. Place Matthias Hebisch (University of Bonn). The poster prizes were sponsored by the Joachim Herz Stiftung.
