Düsseldorf-Jülich Symposium 2023

5th Düsseldorf-Jülich Symposium on Neurodegenerative Diseases:
"Amyloid, from early aggregation steps to clinical trials and new concepts"

Date: 05-07 December 2023
Venue: 'Haus der Universität', Düsseldorf, Germany

Around 150 participants spent three very interesting and successful days at the Düsseldorf-Jülich Symposium in December 2023. There were top-class presentations by the invited speakers, which began with a general introduction of 20 minutes, so that all participants were given the opportunity to look beyond their own field of research in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. Five young scientists, who were selected on the basis of their poster abstracts, also gave very interesting presentations in the plenary session. There was also another poster session with the awarding of poster prizes.
In addition to the lecture sessions, the session "CV - behind the scenes" was offered for the first time this year, in which four invited speakers reported on their personal careers in academic and/or industrial research. In addition, a session with flash talks by the poster presenters was offered. Both newly added sessions were very well received, so it is planned to keep them for the next symposium in 2025. During the coffee breaks, lunch and the poster session with finger food buffet, there were many opportunities for the participants to exchange ideas and network with each other as well as with the invited speakers.
The Düsseldorf-Jülich Symposium in 2023 was therefore a great success and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to this.

The Symposium was generously supported by Alzheimer Forschung Initiative e.V. and Joachim Herz Stiftung.
