The Dynamic World of Membrane Systems and Biocatalysis

To understand life on a molecular level it is of fundamental importance to study structure, dynamics, and function of life's key players -proteins, nucleic acids and lipids - in their native environment.

Our main focus is to develop and apply tailored methods to overcome current limitations in structural biology and to obtain high-resolution insights into life's key players in an increasingly native setting.

Currently a fellowship of the Heinrich-Heine-University is available for outstanding canditates in the area of chemical modifications of DNA enzymes. The fellowship is limited to a period of 1 month and aims to support a short research project in the mentioned field. Candidates need to show a strong previous experiences in chemical biology including enzymatic DNA editing and should be highly motivated to tackle challenging biological systems.

Please contact Dr. Manuel Etzkorn: manuel.etzkorn(at)hhu.de for more information and to submit applications (including motivation letter and CV highlighting the required expertise).
